Chapter One

This chapter never had pictures, so I'm going to leave it that way. Hope you enjoy this none the less!

Chapter One
I stepped onto the diving board, shivering slightly in my bathing suit. As I walked towards the end of the board, it gave away a little, and bends. It can bend all it wants, I know it won't break. I bend my knees slightly, the board bending the smallest bit more. As I push off, I straighten my legs a bit.
I hit the water with a splash. The water is startling. Freezing. I sink to the bottom of the pool, the cold water freezing, but at the same time peaceful. The one thing that helps me clear my head when I'm frazzled and my head is fuzzy, is water. Ice cold water seems to freeze the thoughts in my head so they stop jumping around.
I kick to the surface, and take in deep breaths of the warm air. The air is now warmer than before, compared to the icy water. I tread water to get warmth back in my legs. The sky is picture perfect blue, deceiving everyone. Of the cold air, and the snow scheduled to fall in feet.
"Lucy! Lucy!" Someone calls, I turn my head to the back door. And see my mom calling my name, her hair is done up and her face shiny. She just got home from working on her latest T.V. series that she's the star of. "Summer's here!"
A few weeks after we moved, I was walking around when I ran into a girl my age. She introduced herself and ended up walking with me. We've been friends ever since.
"kay, Mom. Tell her I'll be in in a minute." I paddle to the edge and pull myself up. The air is now colder, the wind bitting into my skin. I hobble over to the loungers and grab a towel. Wrapping it around my waist, I dry my feet off on the mat in front of the door.
"Lucy!" An impatient voice calls, Eliza's voice. Eliza in three months has changed more than me. She comes to stand in front of the door, hands on her hips, blocking my way. "Don't you dare come in the house soaking wet like that." She raises her eyebrows at me and shakes her head. "Eliza," I say warningly. "Remember you're only ten." "I'll be ten and a half in four months." Eliza comments. I sigh, the joy of having a ten and two month year old sister.
