I'm careful not to slip as I run down the sidewalk. Little flurries are coming down, brushing across my shoulders and sticking to my lashes. My breaths turns white as I let it out. It's a winter wonderland, even if there's only a dusting.
I run towards what I know. My new spot. My new cove. My new sanctuary. I tuck my chin against my scarf as I cross the street and turn onto the path. During the summer, this place is crowded with celebrities flocking to get their tan. But in the winter, it's as empty as can be. The sand covered in snow, the tips of the waves icy. I skid to a stop near the edge of the shore and stand there for a minute, just watching the flakes come down. Each one a little different. A little lost.
I sniffle as I look out at the ocean, all frozen, and cold, and unreachable. I sigh as I slump forward.
I take on last look at the horizon, at the light grey sky, illuminated by the smog and building lights, before I turn around and make my way back up the path.

I hope you liked chapter four and feel free to comment! Constructive criticism is always welcome. I'm sorry that chapter is so short, my last chapter was really long, and I used most of my screenshots that I had, so I'm off to play more!
